If I could sum myself up into one word…I couldn’t. I just have too much to say about my life, the wonderful people in it, my opinions on every subject under the sun, and of course, my cat.
Yes, I’m a twenty-something cat lady. Shh…
Life during your twenties is full of pure insanity. You have fun, you make mistakes, you learn, and you grow. Then you go out and repeat the cycle. But how does one cope with all of this craziness? Why, you bake some cupcakes, of course!
Not just cupcakes. I’m talkin’ cakes, pies, puddings, cobblers, brownies, cookies, brookies (say what?)…
…basically anything with sugar. Hence, the title of this little ol’ blog of mine, Sugar Therapy. Baking is, and always has been, very therapeutic for me.
Every year around Christmas time, my mom and I would dedicate a full day, possibly two, to baking cookies. We’d make boxes and gift baskets and give them to friends, family, and neighbors. There is nothing better than the look of bliss on someone’s face when they bite into a snickerdoodle. This was just the beginning for me, as I continued baking in my spare time, making cakes for birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, a random Wednesday.
I quickly realized that this was something I was passionate about. In such a busy world, I think it’s rare to find someone with a serious passion, which is why I love the blogosphere so much. Everyone, no matter if their passion is photography, politics, knitting, whatever, anyone with the ability to write and express their love for their field gets an A+ in my book.
So this is my (in)formal invitation, addressed specifically to you, to join me in my journey, and in return I’ll provide you with delicious recipes that will not only satisfy your sweet tooth, but the sweet teeth (tooths?) of the people in your life.
Thank you for reading! I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
